‘Fire Pot’ is a stunning Dahlia that flowers from July until November. It produces an abundance of orange coral-coloured blooms, that boast contrasting shades of roaring red and apricot. Neatly perched upon a fresh green mound of bushy foliage, this half-hardy tuber attracts lot of attention and adds a tropical feel wherever placed. Ideal for growing in exotic themed landscapes, cut flower and cottage gardening schemes, be sure to position in direct sunlight where it can thrive to a height of 1.2m and spread to around 75cm. Even on dull days, the flowers of Dahlia ‘Fire Pot’ seem to glow from within. Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6″) and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June.
