Affordable and reliable Rose ‘Marieken’ (Shrub Rose)Rosa

‘Marieken’ is a gorgeous Rose, that is ready to bloom from June until November. It produces masses of scented, double flowers, that are a bright red in colour. Smothering a bushy open growing habit of fresh green foliage, this hardy shrub is ideal for growing in patio pots, cut flower, low maintenance and cottage gardening schemes. Happy to develop in semi shade, watch it thrive to a height and spread of 1m. Rose ‘Marieken’ is a hardy, red-stemmed shrub rose with healthy, deep green, glossy leaves. The unscented blooms are a fabulous brick-red colour, blooming continuously from June through to October. This neat, bushy rose makes an ideal container variety, or adds a bright splash of summer colour to rose beds and mixed borders. Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
