‘Black Butte’ is a fantastic Blackberry bush that is ready to harvest from July until September. It bears bundles of glossy black fruits that each measure up to 5cm and weigh around 12g! This Rubus is popular for its trailing growing habit, it adds lots of ornamental value to unsightly areas of the garden and sits well in traditional wildlife and kitchen gardening schemes. It enjoys full sun to thrive and will produce a flurry of small blooms from May until July, this Blackberry will develop in height and spread to around 2m and makes a fabulous patio pot addition. Add your delicious yields of blackberries to deserts and even try making your very own jam! Plant blackberry bushes in a sunny position in any well drained soil. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the ground prior to planting. When growing blackberry plants, support the stems on a framework of wires stretched between sturdy 1.8m (6′) posts, or trained against a trellis or wall.
