The Daffodil Doubles Collection features three elegant, fragrant daffodil varieties with beautifully layered, frilly blooms in complementary colours. These large, double flowers, resembling carnations, showcase broad outer petals and contrasting ruffled centers, creating a captivating effect. Whether planted in clusters along borders, in generous swathes through grassy areas, or mixed with other spring bulbs, these striking blooms will make a statement. For a closer look at their sweet scent, plant them in containers by the doorstep or patio. Supported by sturdy, upright stems, the large blooms also make wonderful cut flowers, perfect for vases. This collection includes the following varieties: Narcissus ‘White Lion’ – Creamy pale petals with frilled lemon centers. Height: 35cm (14″) | Spread: 15cm (6″). Narcissus ‘Dick Wilden’ – Soft yellow outer petals with golden, frilly centers. Height: 45cm (18″) | Spread: 15cm (6″). Narcissus ‘Double Fashion’ – Lemon petals with deep orange, frilled segments. Height: 40cm (16″) | Spread: 15cm (6″). Daffodil ‘Doubles Collection’ features a trio of frilly, fragrant daffodils in three harmonious colours. The large, deeply ruffled blooms resemble carnations, with layers of broad outer petals interspersed with frilly centres in a contrasting shade.
Daffodil and narcissus bulbs are easy to establish in any moist, well drained soil. Plant the bulbs in full sun or semi-shade at a depth of approximately 10cm (4″) and at a distance of 10cm (4″) apart. Narcissus and Daffodils look particularly eye-catching when grown as drifts in borders or informal areas of grass. For a really natural effect, cast the bulbs across the area and plant them where they land.
For an attractive indoor display, plant daffodils and narcissus in containers of bulb fibre and position them cool garage or other well ventilated, dark position at a maximum temperature of 10°C (50°F). Water sparingly when necessary to keep the compost moist. When the growing shoots reach a height of 10cm (4″) move the containers to a cool bright position indoors (approximately 16°C or 60°F).
