Affordable luxury Juniperus squamata ‘Blue Spider’Flaky Juniper

‘Blue Spider’ is a superb Juniperus, that is much loved for its vibrant green-blue foliage. An easy to care for, quick growing Conifer, you can count on this hardy shrub to provide you with great structure, texture and a rounded form all year round. Perfect for growing in alpine and rockery gardens, be sure to plant up in a contemporary container for a striking specimen plant also. It will develop in height to 30cm and will spread to around 60cm and will remain happy in semi shade. Silvery-blue spider-like foliage makes this an excellent ground cover plant for use amongst low alpines, heathers and in gravel beds. Its distinctive compact, rounded shape and stiff evergreen stems make this an excellent choice for patio containers and as a stand-alone feature in the garden. Plant Junipers in a sunny or lightly shaded position, in any well drained soil; juniper trees tolerate dry, chalky or sandy soils. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply.
