‘Mahogany’ is a vibrant Bergamot that blooms from July until October. It produces masses of whorled flowers in a striking shade of red-pink, they sit happily above fresh green foliage and contrast beautifully against one another. Great for planting in cottage, wildlife, woodland and cut flower gardens, your Monarda requires little care and will thrive in full sunlight. Its citrus scented flowers attract lots of pollinating insects and even work well in salads! It will grow in height to 90cm and will spread to around 45cm. . Bergamot plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in a moist, well drained soil, adding compost or well rotted manure to amend excessively heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position in sun.
