Rangpur Lime (Citrus limonia) Despite its name, the Rangpur Lime is not a true lime at all! In fact, it’s a hybrid of lemon and mandarin. This unique citrus plant produces vibrant orange fruits with the tangy flavour of lemons, complemented by a rich, floral fragrance. Its aromatic leaves resemble those of the Kaffir lime and can be used in a similar way to infuse curries with flavour. The abundant fruit offers a wonderful alternative to limes, contributing a zesty, citrusy kick to various dishes. With its glossy foliage and fragrant blossoms, the Rangpur Lime is also an attractive ornamental plant for the conservatory. Height: 3m (9’) Spread: 2.5m (8’) Time to first fruit after planting: 1 year Time to peak yield: 3 years Plant citrus trees in patio containers in a mix of ericaceous compost and neutral, soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Repot the plant at its original soil level and firm well into the new container. Water well and position in a frost free position in full sun.
