Commonly known as Club-rush, Schoenoplectus lacustris is a favorite among landscapers for its ability to provide excellent shelter for wildfowl. This native rush features tall, slender, dark green stems that are hollow, with clusters of rich chocolate-brown flowers adorning the tops. A hardy and resilient perennial, it’s perfect for forming dense stands along the edges of lakes and large ponds when planted in groups. Height: 200cm (78″). Spread: 45cm (18″). Planting depth: Zones 2 and 3, 40cm (16″) below water level. Note: As plant height and spread vary seasonally, we provide measurements based on pot size rather than fixed plant dimensions. The plant size you receive may differ slightly from the images, which are for general reference only. Grow Club-rush plants submerged in the margins of ponds with the crown to a maximum depth of up to 40cm (16″) below water level. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade.
