Dahlia ‘Totally Tangerine’ is a recent introduction that is rapidly gaining popularity – it’s easy to see why! The ruffled centres are surrounded by a collar of single petals in a most unusual shade of orange-pink. The underside of each petal is deep rose-ink, creating a pleasing contrast. The anemone-flowered variety makes a lovely addition to beds and borders. Its tall stems also make fabulous cut flowers for summer bouquets. Height: 80cm (32″). Spread: 45cm (18″).
Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6″) and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June.
