The Holm Oak is a low-maintenance evergreen that can be grown as a full-sized tree or clipped into a hedge. The glossy, tough foliage has a contrasting white underside and is accompanied by shiny acorns later in the season. The Holm Oak is ideal for hedging in exposed and coastal areas because the plants are extremely drought resistant and pollution-tolerant. Holm Oak plants are easy to clip and maintain, and they can be grown in both sun and shade. Full-size specimen tree height: 25m (80′). Spread: up to 20 meters (70 feet). Plant Holm Oak into any moist, but well-drained soil in full sun or dappled shade. Can be grown as hedging, or as a stand-alone tree, but plant out with an awareness of the final size of the tree. Holm Oak will grow in most positions, including coastal, although avoid cold, inland areas.
