‘Summer Breeze Cherry’ is a beautiful new Fragaria, that is ready to harvest from June until October. It generates masses of sweet, juicy red fruits, that work well in a range of culinary dishes and are enjoyed fresh, straight from the plant! Contrasting wonderfully against its double, cherry-red flowers from April until September, its compact habit of fresh green foliage works well in patio pots, borders and kitchen gardens. Happy to progress in full sunlight, watch it thrive to a height of 20cm, along with a trailing spread of 30cm. This everbearing, day-neutral strawberry is perfect for containers, baskets and windowboxes, bearing a flurry of cherry-red double flowers in spring and summer followed by continuous crops of small fruit from June to autumn. Plant strawberry plants in autumn or late spring in a sheltered, sunny position in well manured, free draining soil. Plant strawberry plants every 45cm (18”) in rows spaced at 75cm (30”) apart. Avoid planting them too deeply as this may cause them to rot. Alternatively try growing strawberry plants in hanging baskets or in specially designed strawberry planters for the patio.
