This unique hybrid of Amaryllis Belladonna and Nerine bowdenii brings the best of both species into one plant, producing large flowers on tall stems which last much longer in the garden than those of true nerines and make excellent cut flowers. This unique hybrid of Amaryllis Belladonna and Nerine bowdenii brings the best of both species into one plant: vigorous growth, taller sturdier stems, a hardier habit and bigger flowers that last much longer in the garden than those of true nerines. Plant Amerines in a sunny position in sandy, free draining soil. These bulbs prefer shallow planting with the pointed tip protruding just above the soil surface. Amerines thrive when clumps become congested making them particularly well suited to growing in containers. When planting Amerine in containers use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2 and position in full sun.
