‘Scoubidou’ is a stunning Asiatic Lily that blooms from June until September. It produces large, double, tango-coloured flowers, that are pollen free and ideal for making cut flower bouquets. Fabulous for incorporating into borders, patio pots and tropical themed landscapes, be sure to position in semi shade where it can develop in height to around 100cm, along with a spread of 30cm. Wherever grown in your outdoor space this hardy bulb will add vibrancy and a dramatic statement. Inject a bold splash of colour into your summer borders and patio pots with this showstoppingly vibrant Asiatic lily. Thriving in sun or part shade in well-drained soil, Asiatics are famed for their bright colours and are fully hardy. Asiatic lilies prefer a moist, free draining, neutral to acid soil that is rich in organic matter. Prior to planting, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil to give your lilies the best start. When growing lilies in containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2. Lily bulbs should be planted at a depth of approximately 3 times their own height and 15cm (6″) apart. Planting deeply helps to protect the bulb during particularly hot periods. Choose a sheltered, sunny position where lilies will grow with their heads in the sun and their roots in the shade.
