A shorter variety of Verbena bonariensis, Verbena ‘Buenos Aires’ offers the same vibrant purple flower clusters on tall, sturdy stems but in a more compact form. Its delicate, see-through growth makes it ideal for placing throughout borders or grouping together to create a light, airy display that attracts bees and butterflies all summer. Height: 100cm (39in). Spread: 60cm (24in). Pot up Verbena bonariensis plants and grow them on in frost free conditions, for transplanting into borders later on. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant outdoors in a sheltered position in any moist, well drained soil in full sun.
