Vitis coignetiae is a stunning hardy shrub, that produces bundles of inedible lime green grapes. They gracefully hang among a vigorous, climbing habit of fresh green foliage and its beautiful lobed leaflets will transform to a striking shade of red as autumn approaches. Perfect for sprawling along trellis, fences and obelisks, position in dappled shade and watch it flourish to a height of 12m, along with a spread of 4m. Commonly known as Crimson Glory Vine, this vigorous ornamental climber belongs to same family as Grape vines. This climbing, deciduous vine will cloak walls and fences with a dense covering of lobed foliage with felty brown undersides. Grow Vitis in any fertile, well-drained non-acidic soil in full sun or partial shade. Train the stems onto sturdy wires attached to walls and fences. Plants will give their best autumn colour in a sunny position.
