Gratiola officinalis is an attractive marginal aquatic, that is much loved for its elegant, four-petalled white blooms. They decorate an upright growing habit of fresh green, toothed foliage and create a striking contrast. Easy to care for and happy to grow in semi shade, you can plant this hardy perennial within bogs and water gardens, as well as moist borders. Watch it thrive to a height and spread of 30cm. Grow Gratiola in moist, boggy soils or submerged in the shallow margins of ponds with the crown to a maximum depth of up to 5cm (2″) below water level. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade.
