Add a touch of sunshine to your borders with this hardy cottage garden classic. Golden Lysimachia punctata forms tidy clumps of tall, graceful stems adorned with vibrant yellow flowers from mid-summer to early autumn. Ideal for challenging clay soils and shaded spots, it thrives in moist borders, boggy areas, or along the edges of ponds. This striking plant is perfect for woodland gardens or informal spaces, bringing a splash of late summer colour. Height: 90cm (35″). Spread: 60cm (24″). Pot up Lysimachia punctata plants and grow them on in frost-free conditions for transplanting outdoors later on. When loosestrife plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in sunny or partially shaded borders. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or compost into the soil. Grow Lysimachia in a fertile, moist soil that does not dry out in summer. Dotted loosestrife will happily grow in clay soils, at the margins of a pond or in a bog garden.
