Our wonderful Wisteria trio includes ‘Rosea’, ‘Prolific’ and ‘Alba’. Three stand-out varieties, that form white, pink and lilac blooms from May until July. Popular for their vigorous growing habit of fresh green foliage, this strong mix will look impactful along a trellis or wall, creating a flamboyant summer display, with delicious scent. Position in semi shade and watch them thrive to a height of 9cm, along with a spread of 5m. Wisteria is one of the most dramatic flowering climbers, creating a breath-taking performance of cascading, heavenly-scented racemes in May and June. Grow wisteria plants in a sunny or semi shaded site in any moist, well drained soil. Wisteria flower buds can be damaged by hard spring frosts so choose a sheltered position. Prior to planting add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil. Provide the twining stems with an appropriate and sturdy support, such as strong trellis or wires attached to walls and pergolas.Standard wisterias will especially need a sturdy support when grown to protect the head from damage by strong winds .
