‘Purple Leaf’ is an exciting Corydalis, that produces multiple headed, blue, trumpet-shaped blooms from May until July. They elegantly decorate a clump forming habit of ferny green foliage, that features striking shades of hot red. High in impact, yet easy to look after, be sure to incorporate into cottage, woodland or alpine themed landscapes. Happy to develop in semi shade, watch it flourish to a height of 15cm, along with a spread of 50cm. Corydalis flexuosa ‘Purple Leaf’ makes an often admired, unusual garden plant. These Corydalis may look delicate, but they’re pretty tough, and enjoy our cool English summers. Flowering can often last from late spring until mid-summer, effortlessly forming clumps in borders, rockeries and shady corners. The foliage is fern-like and purple tinged with red. Its flowers are bright blue and tubular. Height: 15cm (6″). Spread: 50cm (19″). Grow Corydalis in fertile, humus-rich, well drained soil in a sunny position or in dappled shade. Improve soil conditions by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting.
