‘Cox’s Orange Pippin’ is a fantastic hardy apple tree that is ready to harvest from September until November. It enjoys growing in full sunlight and requires little care to develop. From April until June a flurry of small white flowers will appear, contrasting beautifully against its fresh green leafage and sturdy stems. Its delicious fruits bear orange-red skins, juicy flesh and a rich flavour, they are perfect for making all kinds of desserts and grow well in wildlife and kitchen gardens. Plant in full sun and watch it shoot off to a great height and spread of 2.5m. Plant apple trees in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny position. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and drive the stake into the ground to support the tree. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake using a tree tie, and water well.
