A great shrub to give some colourful impact in your garden early in the season. Flowering from late winter the coppery-red flowers open to reveal a creamy-yellow inside, Combined with its aromatic foliage and that it’s incredibly easy to grow, Ribes gordonianum is definitley a must have. Flowers June-July. Height 150-200cm.
Grow Ribes in a sunny, in any well drained soil. Ribes odoratum will happily grow in a semi-shaded spot but may produce fewer flowers and berries. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Flowering Currant shrubs at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
