This rapidly growing native plant features tall stems with vertical, narrow, strap-like leaves. In summer, it produces spherical brown flowers along rigid upright stems, which later transform into striking spiky round fruits. Known as Branched Bur Reed (Sparganium erectum), this hardy, semi-evergreen perennial thrives in still or slow-moving waters and is easily uprooted. It is an excellent choice for natural planting schemes, providing valuable cover for wildfowl and other wildlife. Height: 150 cm (59″), Spread: 200 cm (78″), Planting Depth: Zones 1 & 2, up to 15 cm (6″) below water level.
