‘Danceline’ is a superb new Tulipa, that is ready to bloom from April until June. Generating masses of layered, pink and white flowers, they gracefully top a clump forming habit of slender green leaflets. The perfect perennial for planting in borders, patio containers and cottage gardening schemes, its striped petals will most definitely attract attention and add some drama. Thriving to a height of 40cm and spreading to around 15cm, be sure to keep in partial shade for optimum growth. Peony-type tulip bearing white flowers with a ripple of pink. The outer petals are streaked green. Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6″) and at a distance of 13cm (5″) apart.
