Transform your garden into a vibrant, summer paradise with this stunning collection of four begonia varieties. Whether in hanging baskets, containers, window boxes, or garden beds, these begonias will steal the spotlight with their dazzling colours from July through October. Easy to care for, they’ll brighten even the shadiest spots, asking little in return. Plus, the edible petals offer a delightful addition to salads and sandwiches, adding a burst of colour and a refreshing lemony flavour. What’s not to love? The Begonia Tuber Collection includes 40 tubers of the following varieties: Begonia ‘Pendula Mixed’ (10 tubers) – These striking trailing begonias feature long, pendulous stems packed with large, double blooms, creating a spectacular display from summer through autumn. Perfect for hanging baskets and containers, their graceful cascading growth brings bold, vibrant colour to any space. Begonia ‘Nonstop Mixed’ (10 tubers) – Boasting fully double flowers in a riot of colours, this variety thrives in beds, borders, and containers. With its weather-resistant blooms, it will continue to flower well into autumn, long after many other summer plants have faded. Begonia ‘Double Mixed’ (10 tubers) – Featuring rose-like, double blooms in an array of striking, bold hues, these begonias offer a sophisticated touch to your garden with their long-lasting beauty. Begonia ‘Fringed Mixed’ (10 tubers) – Unique blooms with frilly, carnation-like edges appear on sturdy plants throughout the summer, adding a charming texture and vibrant colour to your garden. Each variety reaches a height and spread of 30cm (12″), making them perfect for creating a lush, colourful display in any outdoor space. Tubers are ideal for containers, making a larger plant in the first year than plug plants or growing from seed. From February, start begonia tubers off in well-drained, moist compost in a warm, frost-free position in bright light. When planting begonia tubers, position them just below the compost surface with the indented side facing upwards. When begonia plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
