‘Nathalie G’ is a striking Dahlia that flowers from July until November. It produces masses of small, pompom shaped blooms, that boast contrasting shades of salmon and apricot. Neatly perched upon a fresh green mound of bushy foliage, this half-hardy tuber attracts lot of attention and adds a tropical feel wherever placed. Ideal for growing in exotic themed landscapes, cut flower and cottage gardening schemes, be sure to position in direct sunlight where it can thrive to a height of 90cm and spread to around 60cm. There is something irresistibly pleasing about the neat symmetry of pompom dahlias – they have a quiet poise which contrasts with the flashier, decorative varieties. Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6″) and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June.
