This fabulous Oriental Lily mix combines our very best sellers! From July until September your shrubs will be laden with tropical looking blooms in a variety of shades, adding drama, vibrancy and texture to dull outdoor spaces. Your collection will enjoy partial shade to develop and would be happy planted in a scented, exotic or cut flower gardening scheme. It will attract lots of pollinating insects, emit a delicious scent and return year after year. This combo boasts large, trumpet shaped flowers that sit amongst fresh green leafy foliage, their lengthy stems add lots of architectural height and create a show stopping display for many months. Watch them develop in height to around 90cm, along with a spread of 30cm. Oriental lilies prefer a moist, free draining, neutral to acid soil that is rich in organic matter. Prior to planting, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil to give your lilies the best start. When growing lilies in containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2. Lily bulbs should be planted at a depth of approximately 3 times their own height and 15cm (6″) apart. Planting deeply helps to protect the bulb during particularly hot periods. Choose a sheltered, sunny position where lilies will grow with their heads in the sun and their roots in the shade.
