‘Butterball’ is a stunning new Crab Apple, that is ready to flower from April until May. It produces neat white blooms, that cloak a compact growing habit of fresh green foliage. As Autumn approaches you will witness bundles of gleaming golden fruits, that attract lots of wildlife and beautifully decorate its spreading form. Ideal for planting in kitchen, cottage and low maintenance themed landscapes, keep in partial shade and watch it thrive to a height of 5m, along with a spread of 4m. Quite spectacular in autumn! Heavy crops of glowing, golden fruits fill the branches of this attractive, deciduous tree. Malus ‘Butterball’ is a compact, small tree with an attractive spreading habit, making an unmissable focal point in the garden. Plant crab apple trees in a sheltered, sunny position in any fertile, well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and drive the stake into the ground to support the tree. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake using a tree tie, and water well.
