‘Artist’ is a stunning new Tulipa, that is ready to bloom from April until June. It generates bundles of fluted, colour-changing flowers, that sport shades of purple, orange and green. They delicately top a clump forming habit of fresh green foliage and add vibrancy to dull outdoor spaces. Ideal for planting within patio pots, borders, cottage and cut flower gardening schemes, be sure to keep positioned in partial shade where it can progress to a height of 30cm, along with a spread of 15cm. Vibrant orange and plum flowers with flashes of green slowly mellow to olive, lavender and salmon as they age. Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6″) and at a distance of 13cm (5″) apart.
