The Spade chair by PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED brings together familiar shapes in an unexpected way. The seat of the chair resembles a three-legged milking stool, while the tiny backrest looks like the handle of a spade – hence the name of the chair. The chair is designed by Faye Toogood, who was inspired by the English countryside where she grew up.
The elegant chair is suitable for a variety of locations. It is delightful in its traditional role at the dining table, but it also works well in unexpected places, such as a minimalist clothes rack in the bedroom. The eye is drawn to the chair’s playful angles and the shadows they cast, making the Spade chair an expressive decorative object also in its own.
