Physocarpus opulifolius Amber Jubilee is a fast-growing deciduous shrub. In spring, fresh growth emerges in vibrant hues of orange and gold, gradually transitioning to green as summer progresses. During the summer months, the shrub produces small clusters of creamy-white flowers along its stems, which are then replaced by deep red-burgundy fruits in the fall. As autumn sets in, the foliage takes on beautiful purplish-red tones before eventually dropping. The plant blooms in June and reaches a height and spread of 100-150 cm. Plant Physocarpus in a fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or semi-shade. Physocarpus plants prefer an acid to neutral soil, but will tolerate more alkaline soils, although may they may become chlorotic in very chalky areas. Incorporate organic matter such as well-rotted manure or compost into the soil prior to planting.
