‘Christmas Pippin’ is a superb new Malus, that is ready to harvest from October to November. It generates high yields of large eating apples, that boast a delicious, sweet flavour and flushed red skin. Great for planting within kitchen gardens and borders, keep positioned in semi shade and enjoy watching it thrive! Introduced in 2011, this is a relative newcomer among apple but is already gaining a reputation as an excellent dessert apple. Similar to the well loved Cox apple, but Apple ‘Christmas Pippin’ is easier to grow and more reliable. Plant apple trees in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny position. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and drive the stake into the ground to support the tree. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake using a tree tie, and water well.
