The Fruit Tree Staple Duo is the perfect combination for any gardener looking to enjoy delicious, homegrown fruit with minimal fuss. These two classic, easy-to-grow trees offer the best of both worlds: the crisp, juicy sweetness of the Conference Pear and the tart, aromatic flavour of the Braeburn Apple. Together, the Fruit Tree Staple Duo creates a wonderful combination of flavours and textures, making it a fantastic addition to any garden. Both trees require full sun, and they thrive in well-drained soil, making them perfect for planting in orchards, garden beds, or even smaller garden spaces. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced gardener, this dynamic duo will provide years of fruitful harvests and add beauty to your garden with their seasonal blossoms and vibrant fruit. This Fruit Tree Duo comprises two bare root plants, one of each of the following varieties:
- Pear ‘Conference’ (Quince A rootstock) – the most popular of all pear varieties, producing long, bell-shaped fruits with firm, juicy flesh that are delicious both raw and cooked. ‘Conference’ does not require a pollination partner to produce fruit.
- Apple ‘Braeburn’ (M9 rootstock) – produces huge crops of bi-coloured, smooth skinned, crisp and juicy fruits. This well known variety earns its popularity by being easy to grow, early to crop from a young age, and having excellent storage potential. The heavy crops of flavoursome apples can be harvested in October and will store for up to 4 months.
