Eryngium Planum is a fabulous new hardy perennial, that is ready to bloom from July until October. It generates masses of dome-shaped, spiky blue flowers, that cloak an upright, multi-branching habit of fresh green foliage. Ideal for planting within patio containers, wildlife, cut flower and coastal gardening schemes. Keep positioned in direct sunlight and watch it progress to a height of 90cm, along with a spread of 45cm. Grow sea holly plants on light, well drained soil in full sun. Eryngium plants particularly dislike cold, wet soil in winter which may cause the crown to rot. If planting on heavy soils, dig in plenty of coarse grit to improve drainage prior to planting.
