Hydrangea Arborescens Lime Rickey – Proven Winners
Hydrangea arborescens Lime Rickey is as lime as the name states! This rounded, deciduous shrub boasts broad, dark green leaves and domed lime green flower heads. These can grow up to 15cm (6″) across in size and provide excellent coverage.
The flower heads make a fantastic contrast to the foliage backdrop, and the blooms gradually emerge white later in the year. Lime Rickey is perfect for cut flowers when in full bloom and can be used in both fresh and dried indoor arrangements. This impactful shrub is hardy enough but will thrive better when sheltered from cold and dry winds.
Height and spread: 1.2m (4′).
Hydrangea arborescens prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply.
