‘Amethyst’ is a brand Stokesia, that is ready to bloom from June until October. It produces bundles of bright purple, striking flowers, that cloak an upright growing habit of fresh green foliage. The perfect shrub for planting throughout borders and in patio containers, keep position in direct sunlight and enjoy watching it reach a height of around 20cm. This remarkable new variety boasts sturdy stems that defy flopping, along with an impressive abundance of large, intensely purple flowers. Plant Stokesia in well-drained soil in full sun. Stokesia prefers an acid soil. Where soil pH is more alkaline, grow Stokesia in containers using an ericaceous compost. Avoid wet soils which may cause Stoke’s Asters to rot.
