‘Corinne’ is a gorgeous Old man’s beard, that is ready to flower from June until October. It produces masses of huge, white and pink blooms, that each feature a vivid maroon speckled centre. Smothering a compact, yet deciduous growing habit of fresh green foliage, this vibrant Clematis is perfect for growing in containers on the patio, along walls and fences or in cottage themed landscapes. Position in semi shade and watch it flourish in height to 150cm, along with a spread of 100cm. This striking Clematis is equally good in a flower arrangement as it is in the garden. The large, elegant blooms make superb cut flower lasting for up to 10 days in a vase. When planting clematis, choose a position in sun or semi-shade and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Position the top of the rootball at a depth of 7.5cm (3″) below soil level, to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry. Such soils can be improved by the addition of plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. When growing clematis in patio containers use a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3. Train clematis plants onto a suitable support such as trellis, wires or a freestanding climbing frame.
