A charming Lilac standard for every garden, Syringa ‘Palibin’ is a delightful dwarf lilac that makes an ideal standard plant, with a graceful, rounded head of mauve-pink blooms atop a slender 50cm stem. In late spring, it bursts into an abundance of sweetly scented flowers that fill the air with fragrance. Starting in mid-May and continuing through early summer, this lilac puts on a show, and with a little care—trimming off spent blooms—you may enjoy a second wave of flowers from mid-summer to the first frost. Perfect for enhancing doorways or gateways, this carefully trained specimen adds a touch of architectural elegance. It also thrives in decorative terracotta pots or planted directly in cottage garden borders. Ultimate height: 1.5m (4.9′). Ultimate spread: 60cm (24″). Grow lilac plants in rich fertile, well drained, neutral or alkaline soil in full sun. Dwarf Lilac plants may be grown in containers if preferred using a loam based compost such as John Innes No.3.
