‘Amethyst Lips’ is an intriguing Salvia that attracts attention wherever placed in the garden. From July until November, you will witness masses of aromatic, bicoloured blooms appearing in shades of deep purple and pearly white. Ideal for adding to wildlife, cottage, cut flower and exotic gardening schemes, your hardy perennial also makes a fabulous, showy container plant and creates a beautiful atmosphere with its wafting blackcurrant scented flowers. Plant in full sun and watch it develop in height to 90cm and spread to around 60cm. Pot up salvia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant salvias outdoors in moist, well drained soil, and situated in a sheltered spot in full sun.
