‘Dao Jin’ is a unique Tree Peony that boasts two toned raspberry and white coloured flowers. Not only are they fully double and fragrant, its ruffled petals and silky feel make them good enough to eat! Beautiful as a stand-alone shrub, planted in a patio pot or border, provide your Paeonia with centre stage as it really deserves it with its flamboyant display of intense flowers. It will grow in height and spread to around 150cm and enjoys direct sunlight to grow. Grow tree peonies in full sun or a lightly shaded position that is sheltered from cold winds. They prefer a well drained, humus-rich, fertile, neutral to alkaline soil. They will grow in most soils, except waterlogged and acidic soils, provided they are improved on planting. This is best achieved by adding plenty of well rotted manure or compost to the soil prior to planting, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Plant tree peonies so that the grafted union sits about 15cm (6″) below the soil surface. Shallow planting may hinder establishment and delay flowering.
