‘Stromboli’ is a superb Campsis, that is ready to flower from August to October. It generates an abundance of trumpet-shaped, red blooms, that smother a climbing growing habit of fresh green foliage. Much loved for its striking summer performance, be sure to incorporate into tropical themed landscapes and trail along obelisks, walls or fences. Happy to develop in semi shade, watch it grow to a height and spread of 7m. The Trumpet Vine is a large and vigorous woody climber, producing a dense cover of light green foliage, ideal for training up walls, fences and pergolas. Large, trumpet-shaped flowers explode from deep red buds that usually last until the first frosts. Although Campsis are fully hardy, they will perform better when grown against a warm, sunny wall for added protection and better flowering performance. Plant into moist, but well-drained soil in a sunny position. Alternatively, grow Campsis plants in patio containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.2, and add extra grit for drainage.
