This fabulous early variety of Rhubarb is a popular choice for easy growing, high yields and delicious flavoured fruits! Ready to harvest from April until July, grow in a partially shaded position and incorporate into a kitchen garden. Each juicy stalk is packed with flavour and is rosy, pink in colour, its large leaflets are a glossy green and they perch above neat clusters of fruits. ‘Champagne’ will grow in height to 60cm, along with a spread of 120cm. Plant rhubarb from autumn to spring in a sunny position in well drained soil. Prepare the soil in advance by digging in plenty of well rotted manure and clearing all weeds. When planting rhubarb crowns, set them so that the top of the crown sits 3cm (1″) below soil level and allow a spacing of 75cm (30″) between plants.
