Carl Hansen & Søn’s PK1 chair pairs a thoroughly functional design with organic forms and natural materials. Originally introduced in 1955, the PK1 chair was one of the breakthrough works by Danish designer Poul Kjærholm, and it beautifully embodies the aesthetics of 20th-century Danish Modern. The sleek frame of the PK1 chair is made of steel, and its seat is handwoven from paper cord – crafting a single chair takes a skilled craftsman about 15 hours.
