‘Aureola’ is an attractive perennial that sits well in containers, gravel and tropical themed gardens, rockeries and as ground cover. It enjoys partial shade to develop and requires no maintenance all year round. It forms in large clumps and produces masses of striped yellow and green leaflets, that transform to a fiery shade of red in the Autumn. It will grow in height to 35cm and can spread to around 40cm. Hakonechloa forms neat clumps in the sun or shade. It looks great in autumn containers, or planted in gravel gardens for a Japanese feel. Hakonechloa is easy to grow in moist, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
