This fab Picea is much loved for its dwarf, rounded growing habit. Boasting deep green, needle like foliage, you can count on this hardy shrub to remain resilient, reliable and vibrant all year round. Ideal for adding into borders, patio pots and alpine gardens, be sure to keep positioned in direct sunlight where it can develop in height and spread to 40cm. Picea ‘Jalako Gold’ is a visually stunning, fully hardy, dwarf conifer. With a compact, rounded habit, it forms a dense mound of green needles with paler golden tips that create an attractive contrast. Picea glauca ‘Jalako Gold’ makes a fine specimen plant, singly or planted as part of a grouping in a rockery, border or even planted into a patio container. Grow Picea glauca plants in moist, but well-drained, acidic soil in full sun. Choose a position that is sheltered from cold, drying winds. Alternatively grow in large containers, using ericaceous (acidic) compost.
