‘Okame’ is a superb new Prunus, that is ready to bloom from March to May. It generates a profusion of bright pink blossom, that cloaks a multi-branching, crown-shaped habit of fresh green foliage. As Autumn approaches, you will witness its leaflets transforming to a shade of golden red, adding extra interest to your outdoor space throughout those dull cold months. Plant cherry trees in any well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and drive the stake into the ground to support the tree. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. Plant ornamental cherry trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake using a tree tie, and water well.
