‘Alida’ is a stunning new Iris, that is ready to flower from January to April. It generates an abundance of pastel blue and yellow blooms, that develop in neat clumps, contrasting wonderfully against its fresh green foliage. Eye-catching and great for adding some colour to dull landscapes, be sure to incorporate into patio containers, rockeries and cottage themed landscapes. Happy to progress in full sunlight, watch them thrive to a height of 15cm, along with a spread of 7cm. Iris reticulata ‘Alida’ is a pale blue dwarf iris, each fall marked with a yellow band against white feathering and dusted with dark blue speckles. Plant Iris reticulata bulbs in late autumn, at a depth of approximately twice their own height. Choose a position in full sun in moist, free draining soil. To create a natural effect, cast the bulbs across the area and plant them where they land. Alternatively, plant bulbs in deep containers of loam based compost such as John Innes No. 2 and grow on in a greenhouse or on cool sunny windowsills for an early indoor display.
