‘Nana’ is a superb Picea, that is much loved for its perfected, spherical, compact growing habit. Boasting masses of green-blue, flat needles and multiple branches, you can really count on this hardy tree to deliver on texture, vibrancy and architectural form wherever placed. Slow growing and petite, your Picea would be ideal for growing in a patio container, coastal or alpine gardening scheme and could even work throughout borders. Happy to grow in direct sunlight, watch it progress to a height and spread of 90cm. Picea sitchensis ‘Nana’ is a dwarf cultivar of the Sitka Spruce. This slow growing variety will form a rounded, cone-shaped tree at maturity reaching just 90cm (3’) tall. Grow Picea plants in moist, but well-drained, acidic soil in full sun. Choose a position that is sheltered from cold, drying winds. Alternatively grow in large containers, using ericaceous (acidic) compost.
