‘Dwarf Keleticum’ is a striking Rhododendron, that is ready to bloom from May until July. It generates a profusion of bright purple flowers, that beautifully cloak a compact, dwarf growing habit of deep green leaflets. Easy to care for yet bold in appearance, be sure to incorporate into woodland and cottage themed landscapes, as well as using as a strong stand-alone shrub. Happy to develop in semi shade, watch it thrive to a height and spread of 50cm. A lovely little dwarf variety for creeping over rock gardens, along the edge of a border, down banks or in troughs. Grow Rhododendrons in moist, well drained, acid soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted organic matter. Choose a position in semi or dappled shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Many dwarf Rhododendrons can cope with a sunny position provided that the soil remains reliably moist. Where soil conditions are alkaline, Rhododendron plants are best grown in patio containers, using a mix of ericaceous compost and a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Rhododendrons are surface rooting so it is important to avoid planting them too deeply.
