‘Smaragd Variegata’ is a wonderful new Thuja, that is much loved for its green foliage that is speckled with gold. Boasting a pyramidal form, this hardy shrub is ideal for planting within borders for some extra architectural height, along with adding dimension to cottage gardens and using as a showy specimen shrub. Happy to progress in semi shade, watch it flourish to a height of 4m and spread to around 90cm. Thuja occidentalis ‘Smaragd Variegata’ is a handsome pyramidal evergreen with narrow, compact growth which makes a superb hedge, stand-alone tree or pot specimen. Plant Thuja into any well-drained soil in full sun. The soil can be acid, alkaline or neutral. Protect plants from cold, drying winds, especially when younger.
