Transform your patio with a breathtaking display of fiery red, gold, and bronze hues, courtesy of the striking Begonia ‘Cascading Fireball.’ This new variety outshines the beloved ‘Apricot Shades,’ blooming even more profusely to deliver a continuous cascade of large, vibrant flowers from summer through to the first frosts. Ideal for creating an eye-catching feature in containers, hanging baskets, or window boxes, ‘Cascading Fireball’ offers both beauty and versatility. Height and spread: 30cm (12″). Fantastic for window boxes, baskets and patio containers. Tubers are ideal for containers and baskets, making a larger plant in the first year than plug plants or growing from seed. From February, start tuberous begonias off in well-drained, moist compost in a warm, frost-free position in bright light. When planting begonia tubers, position them just below the compost surface with the indented side facing upwards. In hanging baskets the tubers can be planted at a 45 degree angle with their roots toward the centre, to encourage plants to cascade over the sides of the basket. When begonia plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
